Coquitlam Sefa Soccer

As autumn’s golden leaves give way to winter’s chill, Sefa Coquitlam Soccer Academy proudly closes the curtain on an incredible Fall season. This wasn’t just another season—it was a story of growth, unforgettable memories, and achievements worth celebrating. Serving families in Coquitlam, New Westminster, Port Moody and Port Coquitlam, Sefa Soccer Academy continues to be a vibrant hub for young athletes, blending competitive excellence with a passion for the beautiful game.

Training That Makes a Difference
At Sefa, training goes beyond drills and exercises. It’s about unlocking potential. This season, our programs catered to every young player, no matter where they were on their soccer journey. From our Player Development Program for U6-U10 kids building their foundations to the Competitive Training Programs for U11-U17 players, every child had the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine.

For those dreaming of higher levels, our High-Performance Training Sessions focused on sharpening tactical awareness, technical skills, and physical conditioning. It’s always rewarding to hear parents say how much their kids thrive under our coaching team’s personalized guidance—because at Sefa, every player matters.

Shining in the Academy Super League (ASL)
This Fall, we proudly fielded 22 teams across U9 to U17 divisions in the Academy Super League. Week after week, our players stepped onto the pitch with determination and energy, showcasing teamwork, skill, and heart. Watching their confidence grow throughout the season was one of the highlights for all of us. From intense matches to fun-filled training sessions, Sefa players truly made their mark and proved what happens when dedication meets opportunity.

Cross-Border Adventures: The Jamboree Experience
A standout moment this season was our trip to Everett, Washington, for the Jamboree Soccer Games. Our U9-U13 teams squared off against top clubs like Seattle United, Little Warriors, and Soccer Chance Academy from Portland. But this wasn’t just about competition—it was about creating memories.

Playing against high-level opponents pushed our kids to grow, adapt, and embrace the challenge. Beyond the games, it was incredible to see players forge friendships, share laughs, and experience soccer in a new setting. These adventures remind us why we do what we do: to give kids experiences they’ll carry forever.

A Growing Sefa Family
This season, our academy saw a 10% jump in registrations compared to last year—a clear sign that families trust Sefa to deliver high-quality, affordable, and supportive soccer training. We’re proud to be a place where kids feel seen, valued, and encouraged to chase their potential.

Reaching More Communities
This Fall marked an exciting milestone: we expanded into Coquitlam with dedicated programs for local kids. With the launch of coquitlam.sefasoccer.com, we’re thrilled to welcome even more young soccer enthusiasts into the Sefa family.

In New Westminster, we’re gearing up for more programs at Moody Park next year—because our goal is simple: to make exceptional soccer training accessible to as many communities as possible.

Big Wins on Big Stages
This season brought immense pride to the academy as several Sefa graduates earned national team call-ups:

  • Yuma Tsuji and Sahil Deo represented Canada’s U17 National Team.
  • Kunle Tokode earned a spot on Nigeria’s U15 National Team.

These achievements are a testament to the hard work of our players, the dedication of our coaches, and the effectiveness of Sefa’s player development approach.

Tournaments That Inspired
Our teams also shined on international stages, proving Sefa’s ability to prepare players for elite competition:

  • At the PacNW Soccer Tournament in January 2024, our 012 and 013 teams defended their titles for the second consecutive year. The 011 Selects emerged victorious, while the 014 team made it to the finals.
  • At the Surf Cup Northwest this past July, the 014 and U13 teams were crowned champions. The 012 team reached the finals, and the 011 squad battled to the semifinals.

Moments like these inspire us to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for our young athletes.

Introducing the Skill Center
This season also saw the launch of our new Skill Center programs, aimed at helping players sharpen their technical abilities, ball control, agility, and decision-making on the field. Whether it’s the first touch or quick-thinking play under pressure, the Skill Center is designed to ensure that every child has the tools to keep improving.

What’s Next: Winter Season
As we close out Fall, we’re already preparing for the Winter season. For U9-U12 players, that means futsal—a fast, exciting version of soccer that hones quick reflexes, creativity, and technical skills. For U13-U17 age groups, the focus shifts to building on the progress made in ASL, with plenty of opportunities for growth and competition.

A Big Thank You
To every player, parent, coach, and supporter who made this season what it was—thank you. Your passion, energy, and belief in our academy are what make Sefa Soccer Academy such a special place.
